Manufacturing

Manufacturing in the Swan Hill Region

The Swan Hill Region has a very vibrant manufacturing industry. Whether it’s metal fabrication making farm machinery, marine and transport equipment; fibre reinforced plastic, polystyrene or polyethylene manufacturing processes; horticulture or meat processing the region has a strong base in manufacturing.

Recent expansion of these manufacturing developments prove this is an ideal location with the appropriate infrastructure for further manufacturing development. These businesses have seen strong growth in recent years and many have either commenced exporting or are planning to export.

Location

Ideally located within the economic heartland of south-east Australia, the region has easy access to Australia’s major capital cities and seaports, which is essential for the receiving and distribution of product.

Its central location in the heart of the rich Murray Valley is another advantage, as this is one of Australia’s most diverse and productive rural areas. As a result, a variety of fresh produce is within easy reach and the producers of this product also have a variety of needs that need to be serviced.

The city of Swan Hill acts as the major regional centre for manufacturing firms in the region. Significant investment has been undertaken in the city over recent years, further enhancing Swan Hill’s status as a prominent and growing regional centre. This growth will ensure services continue to be available close at hand for manufacturing businesses and that there are suitable services and facilities to attract employees.
