Business Assistance

Economic Development Unit

Whether you are starting a new business, or expanding an existing one – Council’s Economic Development Unit should be your first point of contact.  Our aim is to promote economic activity in the Swan Hill Rural City Council by assisting business development and investment.

The Economic Development Unit can assist you with a range of enquiries including statistical information, advice and referrals.  We can help you identify potential funding sources and assist with funding applications.

The Unit has extensive information on local industries and can provide assistance in identifying sustainable business opportunities in the Swan Hill region.

The Economic Development Unit can also help you address your employment needs through the Skilled Migration program which aim to attract and support skilled migrants to the Swan Hill region, in order to help address local skilled labour needs.

Remember, should you require assistance to establish a new business or information on how to implement your growth plans, the Economic Development Unit is here to help.

New Investment Attraction policy and procedure

Swan Hill welcomes new investment!

The Investment Attraction Policy provides a structure for the assessment of business incentives applicable to either new business investment or the significant expansion of existing business in the Swan Hill Rural City Council area.

The Swan Hill Rural City Council is committed to sustainable economic development and aims to assist business development within the municipality. Council facilitates economic development in a range of ways including the provision of advice, assistance with planning processes, information relating to Government assistance programs for business, and facilitation with negotiations with Government and service providers.
This Investment Attraction Policy and Procedure provides a method for assessing Councils level of support for these requests and to assist in future quality decision-making.
